Missing in Action Films was founded by Mia Bays in May 2003, and is a London-based production company and marketing/distribution consultancy for film.

To date we have produced the Oscar winning short SIX SHOOTER with Kenton Allen, and EX MEMORIA by Josh Appignanesi, nominated for a British Indie Film Award 2006 and the acclaimed BAFTA-nominated documentary feature SCOTT WALKER - 30 CENTURY MAN by Stephen Kijak.

We have another 10 features at various stages of development.  Mia also runs, since July 2007 as Production Executive, the micro-budget feature film scheme MICROWAVE for Film London and the BBC (www.filmlondon.org.uk)

Missing in Action Films is a short and feature film production company, and is collaborating with other producers such as David Parfitt (SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE) and Elizabeth Stanley, of Elizabeth Stanley Pictures, our U.S producing partner.

We also offer an international and UK marketing & distribution consultancy service - current titles include ANO UNA by Jonas Cuaron (which we are selling for Focus International, Executive Produced by Alfonso Cuaron) and SHADOWS by Milcho Manchevski which debuted at Toronto Film Fest 2007.   Previous titles, as intl sales/marketing consultant from post-prod through to sales and then release have been TSOTSI, the Best Foreign Language Oscar winner 2006, BLINDSIGHT for Robson Entertainment, which premiered at Toronto 2006 and screened at London and AFI 2006 Film Festivals. Recent other films include RUNNING STUMBLED, John Maringouin's American indie  quasi-documentary feature hit which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award 2008 (we handled the UK release at the ICA cinema) as well as Tom Hunsinger and Neil Hunter's SPARKLE for Magic Light Pictures.

Formerly Head of Distribution at The Film Consortium (now The Works Media Group), Mia Bays has 17 years of experience in feature film marketing, distribution and sales, and now production, having worked on over 40 features, with such talent as Ang Lee, Shekhar Kapur, Ian McKellen, Michael Winterbottom and John Sayles.

Mia Bays has been working with some of the world's leading talent such as Gavin Hood & Peter Fudakowski (as marketing consultant on TSOTSI), and as producer with such writer/directors as Neil Hunter (LAWLESS HEART), Martin McDonagh, Natalie Sirett, Josh Appignanesi & Jay Basu (SONG OF SONGS), Gaby Dellal (ON A CLEAR DAY), Barry Ackroyd (acclaimed cinematographer of films such as UNITED 93 and THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY) Joe Dante (GREMLINS, THE BURBS, MATINEE), Stephen Kijak (on SCOTT WALKER - 30 CENTURY MAN feature documentary) and Jim Cartwright (LITTLE VOICE, ROAD), and the Grierson-nominated Vaughan Pilikian.
